Pilot Apollo Malowa of Flex Air Charters is among five people who perished in a chopper crash in Lake Nakuru on Saturday, October 21.
His body, which was retrieved from the lake on Monday, October 23,has been successfully identified alongside that of Anthony Kipyegon.
The third body, which was badly mutilated, is yet to be identified.
A search for the other two, John Mapozi and Veronica Muthoni, continues.
In January 7, 2017 pilot Malowa landed a commercial chopper on the busy Kisumu-Usenge Highway, sparking
confusion in Bondo Town.
Sections of online media had reported that Malowa had lost direction, forcing him to make the surprise landing for enquiries before taking off.
eDaily, however, learnt that the pilot made the brief landing to meet his mother who was locked in a meeting near Pride Hotel, which is located a few meters from the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University in Bondo Town.
The pilot had flown Gem Member of Parliament (MP) Jakoyo Midiwo to his rural home Saturday morning (January 7,2017) before deciding to pull the surprise visit to his mother, who was not at her home at the time.
Malowa, who was a lone a passenger in the aircraft, hailed from Bondo.
Vehicles which were on the highway at the time of the incident were forced to the roadside,with
startled motorists taking pictures of the rare spectacle using their smartphones.
Members of the public, who were confused on what was going on, rushed to the scene not only to
ascertain the cause of surprise landing but also have a glimpse of the copter.
The pilot had a brief chat with his mother by the roadside before taking off.
