Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru

Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru passed away Tuesday morning after he was involved in a grisly road accident.

His Mercedes Benz was involved in a road accident at Kabati Makenji area on the Thika-Muranga road while on his way to Nairobi.

Today we look at his last moments before his tragic passing:

On November 6 he had an interview with Betty Kyallo via video link.

In the interview, he talked about the plans he had for Nyeri residents and the region. Among those things he discussed was transport development including a railway line that would help traders to transport their goods and expand trade in the region.

Before the National exams kicked off he hosted KCSE candidates of Alliance Boys High School including his son at his Runda residence to pray and encourage them.

On Nov 5 he fellowshipped with congregants at Karura Full Gospel Church service in Mathira Constituency.

Earlier on he had attended a Sunday Church service at PCEA Gathehu in Mathira where they prayed for KCSE candidates and had a thanksgiving for the rains and Uhuru’s win in the October 26th election.

On November 3rd he met with Central Kenya, Nairobi and Isiolo Governors in Nanyuki to discuss the region’s economic progress and social advancement. In the meeting, they formed an economic block around the region and also talked of a railway revival plan.

On October 30th he presided over the swearing in of the New County Executive Committee (CEC's) Members at the Nyeri Town Hall.
