A Nairobi taxi driver who begged President Uhuru Kenyatta to come to his aid after his car was damaged as Nasa supporters welcomed Raila Odinga is now all smiles after the president heeded his call.
On Thursday, the taxi driver identified as Mr Nyakundi received the good news through Interior PS Karanja Kibicho.

A Good Samaritan who wished not to be identified has paid for his car's damages, while President Kenyatta has cleared his car loan.

The driver was among motorists caught in street confrontations between police and Nasa supporters on Mombasa Road during Mr Odinga’s return from abroad last week.

In the video that was shared on social media, the driver was in tears as he begged for help from the president after his car was damaged.

On Thursday he thanked the president for his generosity.

Last week, several people were injured when police clashed with Nasa leaders and supporters during Mr Odinga's welcome party.
