President Uhuru Kenyatta has now said that he is open to
dialogue with NASA leader Raila Odinga.
Kenyatta stated that he was open to talks to unite the
country and end the current political stalemate.
This came after the Head of State and Odinga met for the first time at All Saints' Cathedral Centenary on Sunday since the October 26 election.

Kenyatta was responding to Archbishop of Canterbury Justin
Welby, who mentioned that only through reconciliation Kenya could retain its
status as a model nation for Africa
“Reconciliation is a supreme gift of Jesus. Reconciliation is so costly it caused Jesus to die on the cross," Archbishop Welby stated.
However, after the President extended an olive branch to the former Prime Minister, the latter said he would only hold talks with Kenyatta regarding the electoral injustices committed during the August election and nothing else.

At the same time, Siaya Senator James Orengo warned
that they would swear in Odinga as the fifth President of Kenya if Kenyatta was
sworn in.
"This time we are totally prepared and we will not be intimidated by a fake government. We know the constitution and in the next two weeks we will tell Kenyans the way forward," Orengo stated.
