Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi has lost his gubernatorial seat.
This is after the High Court nullified the election of Abdi who won on a Jubilee Party ticket during the August 8 polls.
The ruling comes after a successful petition by his predecessor Ahmed Abdullahi.
According to Justice Alfred Mabeya of the High Court, Governor Abdi was not legally cleared to contest for the seat in the August 8 polls.

The court ruled that Mr Abdi did not have a valid undergraduate degree certificate and that the election was marred by irregularities.
Justice Mabeya in his ruling said that Governor Abdi's academic papers were not complete since he doesn't have a genuine degree.
Mabeya also said Abdi was not validly cleared to vie for the seat and noted many discrepancies in forms 37B which were to declare him winner after the August 8 election.
"In totality, the court hereby finds that the petitioners have succeeded in convincing the court that the election was not conducted in a free and fair manner," Mabeya ruled.
The court has now ordered a by-election to be held in accordance with the constitution and electoral laws.
