Video Of Uhuru Kenyatta Buying Groundnuts While In Traffic Emerges.



A video surfaced on Wednesday morning showing President Uhuru Kenyatta buying groundnuts commonly known as njugu while in traffic.

The clip which was shared on social media by Senior Director of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communications in the Office of the President,Dennis Itumbi, depicts Mr Kenyatta handing over some amount of money to hawkers after being given the nuts.

According to Mr Itumbi, the video was taken while the President served as the country's deputy Prime Minister under the leadership of Raila Odinga.

In the video, one of the hawkers is heard asking Mr Kenyatta, utanunua(will you buy) While chewing groundnuts, he responds stating: Tosha ya leo, si nimenunua tayari(it's enough, I already bought some)

Nimemaliza (I am done), he stated while removing a bunch of notes from his pocket and issuing them to the sellers.

Mr Itumbi divulged that the former Deputy Prime Minister had just met Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) leaders and sealed a return to work formula.

Interestingly,the video was recorded by Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja as revealed by Mr Itumbi.
In October last year, the President also excited Kenyans after he bought a bull worth 1.2 Million shillings during an auction held in Nairobi County.

President Kenyatta donated the 700 Kilogramme bull to the Nairobi County National Police Service.
