1.Giola Pool, Greece
Giola is a natural rocky pool which is located in the region of Astris around 2km from the main road. The rocks reach up to 8 meters and this can give swimmers a chance to dive into the clear waters. The water in the lagoon is much warmer than the sea since they are separated with a rock hence making it much more pleasant to dive in.
2. Blue Lagoon, Iceland
It is sometimes referred to as one of the 25 wonders of the world and is one of the most visited attractions in Iceland. It is located in a lava field in Grindavik on the Reykjanes Peninsula, a location favourable for Geothermal power. The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area of the lagoon average 37 – 39 °C (99–102 °F). It is man-made and is fed by the water output of the nearby geothermal power plant Svartsengi. The mud extracted from the Blue Lagoon region has been used by several cosmetic companies.
3. Pools of Oheo, Hawaii, USA
They are located in Haleakala National Park which is one the eastern side of Maui. There are plenty of self-guided hiking trails that weave through forests of bamboo, past roaring cascades to the green heart of the island.
4. Cummin Falls, Tennessee, USA
Located in the 211 acre Cummin Falls State Park, it is Tennessee’s eighth largest waterfall in volume of water and is 75 feet high. It is a popular swimming hole for local residents of Jackson and Putnam counties for more than 100 years. In 2010 it was named “Tenth Best Swimming Hole In America” by Travel and Leisure Magazine.
5. Salto de Laja, Chile

The Laja Falls are located in the Laja River in southcentral Chile next to the old Pan American Highway between the cities of Los Angeles and Chillan. It plunges nearly 50m over a steep escarpment to form a horseshoe-shape waterfall.
6. Bimmah Sinkhole, Oman
This is a water-filled depression that is structurally a sinkhole in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman. There is a shallow area of water where one can swim easily and a deep area for the confident swimmer. The water is crystal clear and you may actually get to experience lots of little fish nibbling at your feet.
7. Garachico Pools, Spain
It is a great swimming spot for the family since it also offers you the chance to see a part of one of the most beautiful historic centers of the Canary Islands with the spectacular La Culata cliffs and views along the rest of the northern coastline.
8. Grotta della Poesia, Italy
It is a 100 foot wide sinkhole at the edge of the sea located in Roca. It is said to have been a favorite swimming spot for an ancient princess and the sight of her swimming there inspired poets. You can also get a chance to scuba dive in the sinkhole them swim from the sinkhole through an underground sea cave and back out to the sea.
9. Dudu Blue Lagoon, Dominican Republic
This is one of the dreamiest blue swimming spots you will find in the Dominican Republic. It is a natural cenote with crystal clear waters. There are different ways to jump in such a zip line and different levels of heights to jump in from.
10. Crystal River, Florida, USA
Located along Central Florida’s “Nature Coast” it is one of the few places you can swim with manatees.
11. Lac de St. Croix, France
This is a man-made lake formed by the construction between 1971 and 1974 of a reinforced concrete arch dam. There is a small town with several restaurants to the east of the lake and a historic village on the shores the south of the lake.
12. Josephine Falls, Australia
The falls are located at the foot of the southern face of Mount Bartle Frere in the Wooroonooran National Park. They descend from an elevation of 630 feet. The drive to the location is very beautiful since you pass lots of mountain and farm scenery.
