Three people have been killed by suspected al Shabaab militants at Maleli in Witu, Lamu West.

Lamu County commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo confirmed the incident on Friday.

Kitivo said police officers have been sent to the area to assess the situation.

He said he will give details of the attack later in the day.
