Mr Lone has fled to New York City in the United States alleging that the murder of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ICT Manager Chris Msando scared him.
Speaking to a local daily on phone, Mr Lone added that impromptu trip has not affected his communication strategy work with the Opposition coalition.
"I had no choice but to leave for my safety. But of course, I am with the campaign 100 per cent and working with it," he told The Standard.

He also accused the Jubilee party of a plot to link him to violence even before the polls kicked off.
Lone boasted of having served as the link between the NASA presidential candidate,Raila Odinga and powerful international media stations and diplomats.
He credited himself with having made Mr Odinga a threat to his competitors through his communication and political spins.
Lone stated that he would jet back to the country if Raila wins in the elections.
