It is still unclear why Wetangula's bodyguards have been recalled.
Earlier today, it also emerged that the security details of Opposition Leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka had been taken away.
The police officers assigned to the opposition leaders were reportedly recalled and told to hand over their police radios so that they could not monitor police communication.
Mr Musyoka on disclosed that he was stripped of his bodyguards on Monday evening.
"Withdrawal of my security and that of Raila is illegal, the law requires presidential candidates an all-around security protection," Kalonzo Musyoka stated.
Raila's Spokesman Dennis Onyango revealed that five bodyguards attached to the former Prime Minister were last night asked to report to the GSU headquarters in Nairobi for further instructions.
ODM's Director of Communication Philip Etale condemned the move revealing the guards had been deployed to North Eastern Kenya.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Joel Kitili, however, refuted the claims stating that he was not aware of the move to withdraw the Opposition leaders' security.
