NASA leader Raila Odinga on Thursday criticised
diplomats based in Nairobi while delivering his speech in the US over what he
termed as failing the 'country during the hour of need'.
Addressing a gathering at Center for Strategic and
International Studies (CSIS), Odinga stated that envoys in Nairobi sided
with President Uhuru Kenyatta in the disputed election.
The former Prime Minister noted that despite IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati stating that electoral body could not guarantee a free poll, the diplomats failed to offer a solution and pushed for the repeat presidential election.

"Let me blunt again...envoys have sometimes contributed
to the problem. IEBC said it could not guarantee the credibility of polls but
envoys in Nairobi said 'proceed'.
''Kenya is heading towards being axed into dictatorship and your envoys have not succeeded in making things better," Odinga stated.
The Opposition leader called on US and other countries to intervene and salvage the political stalemate in Kenya as well as pushing for democracy.
Odinga pulled out of the repeat presidential election held on October 26th accusing IEBC of failing to meet the irreducible minimums presented by NASA.
He argued that the electoral body was unable to deliver a free poll and would not accept to participate in a pre-determined election.
The election proceeded as planned by IEBC and Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the winner after garnering over 7 Million votes with diplomats in Nairobi and international observers terming the process transparent.

the supreme court by Ex-Kilome MP Harun Mwau.
This will be the second time the supreme court is dealing with a presidential petition after nullifying Kenyatta's win in the disputed August 8th election.
