NASA leader Raila Odinga has termed President Uhuru Kenyatta's swearing-in ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, as a 'mere coronation'.
Speaking to BBC, Odinga stated that Kenyatta was an illegitimate president since he was elected by less than 20% of Kenyans.
“It’s a coronation rather than an inauguration. We don’t believe he was legitimately elected as leader of Kenya,” the former Prime Minister said.

He lashed out at the international community for their silence while NASA supporters were allegedly being killed by police.
At the same time, chaos erupted in Jacaranda, Embakasi where NASA's rally was scheduled to take place.
Police cordoned off the area and engaged NASA supporters who attempted to access Jacaranda grounds.
On the other hand, Kenyatta promised to unite all Kenyans after he was sworn-in in at Kasarani.
"I call on all peace-loving Kenyans to help me with this sacred task of bringing Kenyans together.
"Today, we can tell the world that we live under a constitutional order & that our Constitution is not a piece of paper. There is room for improvement but we should not destroy our institutions if they don't deliver what we want," the Head of State said.

Thousands thronged Kasarani on Tuesday to witness the inauguration with the 60,000 stadium filled to capacity by 9 am.
Among the Heads of State who graced the inauguration include Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni, Rwanda's Paul Kagame, Botswana's Ian Khama, Zambia's Edgar Lungu, South Sudan's Salva Kiir, Gabon's Ali Bongo and Namibia's Hage Geingob.
