Why Netanyahu Refused To Attend Uhuru's Inauguration

Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu and President Uhuru Kenyatta

Details that led to Israel Prime Minister to miss President Uhuru Kenyata’s inaguartton ceremony held at Kasarani Stadium have now come to light.

Reports by Israel’s media indicate that Mr. Netanyahu, who is currently in Kenya, snubbed the event due to security concerns.

“Because of security concerns, Netanyahu is not expected to take part in the main inauguration ceremony to be held at the 60,000-seat Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi,” the Jerusalem post quoted.
The flag of Israel was flying high at the stadium but Netanyahu was nowhere to be seen.

At the same time, Israel Time reported: "The Shin Bet Security Service has therefore not green-lighted for Netanyahu to appear at Nairobi’s Kasarani Stadium out of concern for his safety".

The PM had earlier assured Kenya that he will be attending the ceremony that was graced by dozens of Heads of State and envoys.

Due to the changes in his security detail, Netanyahu will only be attending the luncheon at State House.
Israel is known to be very keen with its security and the last time Netanyahu was in Nairobi businesses were paralysed as major roads remained closed.
