ODM Governor Attends Uhuru's Inaguration

Council of Governors chairperson Josphat Nanok on Tuesday, November 28 freed up his schedule to attend President elect Uhuru Kenyatta’s inauguration despite his allegiance to Raila Odinga. Nanok, who had in the past been a fierce critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta was spotted arriving at the Kasarani grounds early on Tuesday moments before the President and his Deputy William Ruto’s arrival.

A large section perhaps felt that the governor would instead be in attendance of a parallel NASA event which was to take place at the Jacaranda grounds.

Nanok retained his Turkana gubernatorial seat on an ODM ticket. Barely a week ago, the entire fleet of 47 governors came forward to congratulate Uhuru Kenyatta for securing the win in the October 26 repeat poll.

The council of governors through its chairman Josphat Nanok congratulated Uhuru on Tuesday, November 21, a day after the Supreme Court ruled that was validly re-elected. Nanok also said all the 47 governors and their governments will work closely with the national government under the leadership of Uhuru.

Aside from Nanok, a number of international dignitaries were also in attendance of the inauguration ceremony including Presidents of South Sudan, Zambia, Uganda, and Somalia.
