However, six of the seats were traced and recovered at a hotel owned by a senior government official.
It is suspected the chairs were stolen from State House and some found their way to a hotel owned by a top official working in the county government,” a detective who was privy to the operation was quoted.
During the raid, police officers visited the hotel located on Nakuru’s Kenyatta Avenue where the chairs were recovered after which detectives visited the official's home for interrogation.

Theft confirmed by Nakuru OCPD
The incident was confirmed by Nakuru OCPD Samuel Obara who stated that the executive chairs had been stolen, but only six were recovered.
Obara added that the loss of expensive and bulky furniture from a highly guarded premisessuggested that some security officials may have been involved.
"This issue is sensitive and should be handled with care, that is why police headquarters will brief you,” Obara stated.
