The Kenya Railways Corporation has made an incredible offer to all Kenyan students whose schools are located along the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) route.
The parastatal announced that it will provide special booking and seats for students traveling from Nairobi to Mombasa and vice versa.
The students will acquire tickets on the spot and if their parents is accompanying them, they too can get a space in the Madaraka Express train.

Students wishing to enjoy the offer are instructed to be at the SGR stations donned in their school uniforms.
“The Kenya Railways Corporation will provide special booking desks and seats on the Madaraka Express train to students traveling from Nairobi to Mombasa and vice versa starting 7 January 2017. A special desk will be set up in all the Standard Gauge Railway stations between Nairobi and Mombasa to issue tickets to any students in uniform, as well as parents who may be accompanying the students.

"The tickets will be issued on the spot and at the normal fare. Parents and students are advised to be at the respective stations only enough before the departure time to allow for easy booking,"the statement read.
This comes at a time when the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) banned night travel, a move that has left many stranded in various parts of the country.
