18 NASA Members Abandon Raila Odinga.

Former Kitui Senator David Musila has led a section of Ukambani leaders in declaring support for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming repeat presidential election.

Along with former Mwingi West Member of Parliament Bernard Kitungi and 18 politicians allied to the National Super Alliance (NASA) from Makueni, the leaders have launched campaigns for President Kenyatta's re-election in the region.

The former Wiper party Chairman has termed the Supreme Court ruling as a second chance for the Kamba community to realign itself politically.

"We cannot afford to be outside the government for another five years, so the logical thing to do is to support the winning team and be assured of development," Mr Musila declared during a campaign in Kitui on Thursday.

In August, Mr Musila sent a congratulatory message to the President on his win, where he and other leaders declared they had left the Opposition.

"We don't think as Ukambani leaders it will be good to stay in the opposition for the next five years. It will not be in our best interest to stay in opposition as Ukambani", Mr Musila had told journalists in a statement issued shortly after a meeting with Jubilee party leaders from the region.

He further conveyed that the community was fed up with being held hostage to the political decisions made by NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka.
