NASA leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday pulled a rather
surprise move during the delivery of the full judgement on his petition that
successfully challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta's win.
Odinga used an innovative strategy to raise funds for the
repeat Presidential polls slotted for October 17.
The NASA leader took to his Facebook page, which has over
one million followers, to embed graphics that advertised his Mpesa Paybill on
the live video footage of the Supreme Court full ruling.
The rather creative ad not only had the paybill displayed on both sides of the screen, but also a catchy slogan "Kata tikiti yako ya kwenda Canaan leo (Book your ticket to Canaan today)".
By the time of publishing this article, the live video had
been watched by 48,000 Facebook users with varying views on the fund raising
strategy.
Odinga has in the past week raised millions of shillings
through the NASA campaign's mobile money paybill.
