Daystar University student leaders have accused the institution's Parents Association Chair,Dorothy Ng'ethe, of ethnically profiling students and working with the Vice-Chancellor to target student leaders.Following a boycott of classes by the students, the institution was closed indefinitely.
Daystar Valley Road President Aloys Otieno and Athi River President Karwitha Karimi held a joint briefing where they blasted the university's administration for ethnic profiling.
Ms Karimi stated: Dorothy Ng'ethe, the Daystar University Parents Association Chairperson, called me asking me to remember that my name is Karwitha and my fellow President's name is Otieno, and I should remember that his people are causing the Government a lot of harm and a lot of disservice.
And I should remember that I need to save myself and my education and write an e-mail immediately to the VC calling off the boycott failure to which we would be dealt with accordingly and I should not be dealt with his people: she continued.
Damaris Kimilu, the university's Corporate Affairs Director, told Kenyans.co.ke that a comprehensive statement would be issued later in the day concerning the damning allegations.

The students organized a two-day boycott to complain over the deteriorating state of facilities in the institution and a lack of resources for students.
The Vice-Chancellor,Timothy Wachira, on his part,accused the students of being unwilling to engage in dialogue.
Following the institution's closure, anti-riot police were sent in to quell the protests.
The students accused the police of using excessive force, with videos and images widely shared on social media of teargas being fired and spent cartridges strewn on the ground.
