Deputy President has
advised that National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga can win the August election if he
adopts a strategy to get more votes and protect them.
Speaking during a Thursday morning interview on Capital FM,
the Deputy President told the NASA leader not to engage in other side
tactics that would not aid in adding any votes.
“It doesn’t matter whether you don’t sleep or have sex. You
can't win the election if you've not looked for votes,” he
stated.
He added that NASA lost the 2013 elections because they had
fewer numbers and its efforts to protect the few votes it currently has would
not guarantee a victory in the upcoming polls.
Instead, he told Odinga to seek more votes because that was
the only way to winning the election.
He expressed sympathy with the Opposition stating that they
were living a lie by insisting that Jubilee had rigged the 2013 polls.
The DP also hit out at NASA principals claiming that they
had not prepared the coalition's manifesto since none of them could
defend it.
“Musalia Mudavadi did not understand NASA’s manifesto
because it was written by cartels, which is why he did not show up to an
interview to defend its contents” he stated.
Confident that Jubilee would emerge victorious in the August
polls, Ruto explained that the Opposition outfit had no credible
agenda and the unrelenting court cases against the IEBC showed they were
ill-prepared for the polls.
Earlier, the ODM leader had requested his supporters to
abstain from sex on August 7 so as to vote in large numbers the
following day.
