Nasa leaders have maintained that president Uhuru Kenyatta
acted in bad faith in convening parliament before the Supreme Court rules on
their petition.
Speaking after a meeting with all Nasa MPs at Okoa Kenya
offices in Lavington, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and Musalia
Mudavadi said they will officially communicate with their MPs on
the way forward by Tuesday next week.
“The president had all the chance to wait until the Supreme
Court dispenses with the court case,” said Wetangula in a briefing.
Nasa also announced that they conduct a number of activities
in Nairobi as part of keeping vigil as they wait for the court to rule on the
case.
“We are going to keep vigil within Nairobi on Sunday
starting with a prayer meeting then on Monday we will expect all our members to
accompany the principals to court,”
The coalition stated on their social media pages that
Dagoretti North MP-elect Simba Arati and activist Japheth Muroko would be
leading the protests.
The members of Bunge La Wazalendo and Bunge La Mwananchi
will also be in attendance.
This comes after the NASA presidential candidate Raila
Odinga presented a petition at the Supreme Court to contest the declaration of
Jubilee’s Uhuru Kenyatta as president-elect.
NASA believes that the IEBC didn’t hold free, fair and
credible elections.
According the IEBC President Uhuru won with a difference of
1.4million votes.
The IEBC and President Uhuru filed their response to NASA’s
petition on Thursday.
