The National Super Alliance
(NASA) has issued fresh demands following the death of IEBC ICT manager Chris
Msando.
Addressing the media on
Tuesday, NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi called for a thorough investigation
into the matter and urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to throw the full weight of
his office to ensure speedy investigations.
"President Uhuru
Kenyatta should commit to ensuring that Kenyans engage in a free and fair
election," Mudavadi stated.
He further noted that IEBC
should hire an internationally recognized expert to secure the electoral system
following Msando's death.
Mr Mudavadi also asked
President Kenyatta to accept help from the United States and the United Kingdom
to ensure that the perpetrators of the heinous act are brought to book.
He expressed concerns with
the manner in which President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto had handled
the case, faulting the duo for their silence on the matter.
"We express our horror
that neither Uhuru, Ruto or Ag have talked on this matter," Mudavadi
stated.
Msando's body was discovered
at the City Mortuary on Monday morning.
His body was found with
several injuries and his right forearm broken, indicating that he could have
been tortured before being killed.
He had visible injuries in
the back, the left side of his head and on his belly, with both of his hands
bearing cut wounds.
