Capital FM on Tuesday reacted to Producer, Joe Muchiri’s
‘inappropriate jokes’ made on social media.
Muchiri is what many would refer to as a social media
bigwig. He over the weekend said that a woman should be ‘raped with a cactus’
because she declined voting for rapper, Nyashinki who has been nominated for
the MTV EMAs.
Capital FM has reiterated that they do not support Joe’s
behaviour and action will be taken against him.
”We would like to make it abundantly clear that we do not
support or condone gender based violence or any form of violence. We are
therefore dealing with the matter with the seriousness it deserves,” read
Capital FM’s statement.
Obadiah Ogeto, a Youth Fund employee was on September 15,
fired for making fun of rape victims or survivors by calling them names. In one
tweet, Ogeto referred to them as ‘donkeys.’
According to his boss, Ronald Osumba, he was ‘fired, not
because he is a rapist but because of his attitude and jocular handling of the
sensitive issue. The institution is not tolerant to such.’
