Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s (IEBC)
Ezra Chiloba is still in office, NASA leader Raila Odinga has revealed.
According to the ODM party leader, the electoral body’s CEO
was in office on Monday morning at 7 am despite taking a three week leave
starting Friday, 20 October.
”I want you to know that Chiloba is still in office. He was
in the office at 7 am this morning. And he is there now,” Odinga said while
addressing the people of Keroka, Kisii county.
He also accused Chiloba of laying a trap for the opposition
ahead of the fresh polls that they (NASA) have vowed to boycott.
Odinga also maintained that ballot papers were printed in
the country along Mombasa road.
On Sunday, he asked his supporters to not take part in the
repeat polls but instead demonstrate on Tuesday and Wednesday against the IEBC.
Also accompanying the former Prime Minister was Governor
James Ongwae who insisted that the October polls would be flawed.
He said that the commission should meet their ‘irreducible
minimum’ demands first.
The opposition is on a tour of Kisii and Nyamira counties.
