Controversial political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has claimed
that National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga is a coward after he
failed to swear himself in as had been planned. According to Ngunyi, Raila
lacks the charisma of his late father Jaramogi Oginga Odinga who stood firm in
the call for independence.
The Evening Post understands that Oginga refused to take over
power from the colonialists maintaining that Mzee Jomo Kenyatta must be
released to take over.
Kenyatta was in detention besides other freedom fighters and
Oginga said he could be viewed as a traitor if he accepted to be installed as
the founding father of the nation.
"After
INDEPENDENCE, Raila's Father DECLARED: Not Yet Uhuru . But because Raila is a
COWARD and could NOT swear himself in, today is INDEPENDENCE DAY for the LUO
Nation," he said on his Twitter post.

NASA postponed Raila's swearing-in ceremony that had been
planned for Tuesday, December 12.
The ceremony was to coincide with Jamhuri Day celebrations
that were presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The government had issued a stern warning and said Raila
risked treason charges should he have gone ahead with the plans. And in his
speech on Jamhuri Day, President Uhuru Kenyatta warned the opposition leaders
who do not recognise him as having been legitimately elected that they will be
treated like criminals. .
