The Inspector General of police, Joseph Boinett has issued a stern warning against Kenyans planning to over indulge in alcohol today.
Addresssing the press, Boinnet noted that he was aware of Kenyans plans to take advantage after the removal of NTSA officers from the roads.
''I know some people are saying today being Friday they will drink as much as they want because NTSA is off the roads. Be warned, we will arrest you!'' Said the Police boss
President's Order to NTSA Officers
This comes after the presidents directive that all NTSA officers should withdraw from the road and let the police traffic officers take charge.
Constant accidents which have led to hundreds of deaths prompted the President to take the decision with the aim of aligning the transport sector.
The NTSA officers will now be redeployed and will concentrate on policy and awareness creation about road safety.
Meanwhile, Interior PS Kibicho is set to lead a fresh campaign with crackdowns on illegal brews and drugs in the country.
