Machakos High Court on Friday ruled in favour of Governor Alfred Mutua, in a petition challenging his win during the August 8 General Election.
In the ruling made by Justice Aggrey Mchelule, Mr Mutua's win was upheld after his arch rival and Wiper Party candidate Wavinya Ndeti moved to court stating that the election was rigged to favour the Governor.
According to Ms. Ndeti, who is the former Kathiani MP, the election was marred by massive irregularities.
She argues that Mutua was not elected in a free, fair and transparent manner as required by the Constitution.
