Despite the heavy rains inconveniencing a lot of Nairobians, there are some that have found a silver lining during the heavy down pour.
For the business minded Kenyans, they saw the heavy rains as a source of inspiration and have devised some clever ways to make an extra shilling.
Here are five ways Kenyans are making money during this rainy season.
1.Ferrying people across puddles
A recent video showing cart pullers ferrying pedestrians across puddles of water went viral. For just ten shillings, pedestrians avoid stepping into puddles as carts are placed next to each other, creating a bridge for them to cross to the other side without getting too wet.
2.Carrying people on their backs
Some Kenyans along Muthurwa took it upon themselves to give stranded pedestrians piggy back rides to shelter. They braved the puddles of water for the sake of others, at a small fee of course.

3.Selling umbrellas
Of course, umbrella vendors are making a good shilling during the heavy rains. The meteorological department on Tuesday revealed that life jackets and inflatable boats had sold out following the heavy rains.
4.Cleaning shoes
For those that are afraid of messing their shoes up with mud, no need to worry as there are people willing to clean the shoes for you at a small price.
5.People helping motorists push cars off the road
With most parts of the city being flooded, a good number of cars are getting stuck on immersed into water. For the cars that are not completely immersed however, some Kenyans are helping the owners get their cars out of the water.
