NASA leader Raila Odinga’s son has responded to the Immigration Department after its Tuesday morning message stating that self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) General Miguna Miguna was presented with documents to regularize his Kenyan citizenship.
In a tweet, Raila Junior divulged that Miguna will not sign the documents presented to him because he was well versed in Immigration laws.
Mr. Odinga’ s son mentioned that the only papers Miguna would be willing to sign were those issuing him with a new passport.
“@MigunaMiguna is an immigration lawyer he knows if they are forms for applying for citizenship he will not sign if they are forms for issuance of a new passport then he will sign,” Raila Junior said.
On Monday, Miguna arrived in Kenya at 2.30Pm but was detained at the Immigration office because he did not possess a Kenyan passport.
He was asked to surrender his Canadian passport then apply for a Visa but he refused.
According to Miguna, applying for the Visa as a tourist would restrict him from conducting his political activities in the country.
After a stand-off of more than 8 hours, a battalion of police officers bundled the fiery lawyer into an Emirates flight in a bid to deport him to Dubai.
However, Miguna refused to board the plane and stood at the door restricting any movement.
Eventually, the captain locked the plane’s door and Miguna was left at JKIA’s runway.
