Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua on Wednesday issued a statement seemingly defending Kirinyaga Deputy Governor  Peter Ndambiri Njagi, who was busted with an alleged married woman in his hotel room.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Mr. Njagi was caught butt naked with the unknown woman by men who harassed him ruthlessly.

Mr. Mutua stated that recording the clip and circulating it was in violation of the rights of the two.
"There can be no justification for invading the privacy of two consenting adults and harassing them in the manner in the alleged Kirinyanga County DG video. It's barbaric, outrageous and a violation of human rights.
"In my view, the invasion of privacy and primitive harassment of a couple in private, whatever their sin or crime, is the evidence of how low we have sunk as a society," Mutua said.
KFCB boss castigated the filming and circulation of the video noting that it was illegal and went further to compare it to terrorism.

"This is no laughing matter but I dare say that the filming was illegal as KFCB had not issued a permit for the same. This is not a light matter. It's not an issue of immorality. It's a crime akin to terrorism. It's the worst form of violation a human being can go through," he said.
In the statement, Mr. Mutua asked the Inspector General of Police and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to take action against the perpetrators.
"The DPP should intervene. The IG must act. This is totally unacceptable!" Mutua said.
