Mother to the late Bongo Movie super star Stephen Kanumba has opened up after learning that actress Elizabeth Michael had been freed from Jail.
The actress had been sentenced to a two-year jail term on November 13, 2017 for accidentally killing her fellow actor Stephen Kanumba.
The award-winning actress was accused of pushing Kanumba violently where he fell and received a fatal blow to his head.

According to Kanumba’s mother, Flora Mtegoa, she has not been able to sleep after receiving news that the actress had been freed and now will be serving a community service sentence.
“Tangu alipopata tetesi za msanii huyo akutoka jela, amejikuta nakosa usingizi na kuumwa presha. Na kutokana na suala hilo, imenilazimu kwenda kwenda kwenye maombi kwa ajili ya afya yangu.” Said Mama Kanumba
She added that Lulu should have at least served one year in jail after the court ruling.

Community service sentence
On Monday, the Police Officer In charge of the Prisons Department Lucas Mboje, disclosed that Lulu was released over the weekend and would now serve a community service sentence.

Mboje mentioned that the decision to release Lulu was reached by the Tanzanian High Court in Dar es Sallam.
“Lulu amebadilishiwa adhabu na ameachiwa juzi Jumamosi kati ya saa 2 hadi 3 asubuhi. Hii si kwamba ameachiwa huru, bali amebadilishiwa adhabu na atatumikia kifungo chake nje, kitaalamu tunaita ‘community service’” said Lucas Mboje.
