Betty Kyalo is one media personality who always has a smile on her face. The KTN television presenter has been on our screens for the last couple of years engaging us with her charm and her bubbly personality.
Away from the screen she also seems to love and care for her fans and the less-fortunate. She proved this over the weekend when she visited Lea Children’s Home in Mathare with radio presenter Bonoko.
She wrote:
“Had A Great Time Yesterday In Mathare With Kids From Lea
Childrens Home… Together With My Friend Bonoko We Took Books And Donated Some
Funds To Finish Building A Community School… Sunday Well Spent.”
She added:
“The Mathare Based Lea Children’s Home Visit Was Really Nice,
Met Some Talented Underprivileged Kids Who’ll Youll Soon See In A Tv Near
You I
Have To Commend Bonokos Masafara Foundation For The Great Work He Is Doing. We
Donated Books For The Kids And We Promised To Finish The Community School Whose
Construction Has Stalled. Swipe Left.”
She wasn’t done praising Bonoko. She wrote a glowing review
of the comedians locale. She said:
“Then After Bonoko Took Me For Late Lunch At His Favourite
Spot In The Heart Of Ngara. Its Called The Hustlers Joint. Ate Some Chapo
Beans, A Kdf And Tea. Noma Sana… Wacha Tu.
.”
While what Betty and Bonoko have just done may get deserved plaudits there are a number of other celebs who also give back to the less-fortunate.
Bahati is another celeb who grew up in a children’s home and has not forgotten where he came from. The popular gospel singer adopted several children and treats them as his own.
Cecilia Mwangi was mocked when she became the ambassador for NGO Ahadi Kenya. The foundation deals with the jiggers menace afflicting both young and old.
But her perseverance won over many hearts as the she has still kept the candle burning in her efforts for over a decade now.
