A number of Kenyans have expressed outrage after a video
surfaced online showing KDF soldiers gunning down a man believed to be a fellow
citizen.
The video which was shared widely on Tuesday shows a man who
was clad in a green pair of shorts and a t-shirt being shot to death in broad
daylight.
As the video begins, one officer is seen firing shots at the
man who had sat on the ground – presumably as a sign that he had surrendered.
As the first soldier is firing, one of his colleagues who
was in a nearby truck is seen riddling the civilian’s body with more bullets.
Surprisingly, the clip which has now become the subject of a
heated debate on social media, was shot by another soldier.
While some netizens have condemned the action of the ‘rogue’
soldiers and labelled them as killers, others seem to condone with them.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the shocking incident took
place in West Pokot in an area where cattle rustling is the order of the day.
