The body of a 39-year old secondary school teacher who
served as a Deputy Presiding Officer in Ugenya Constituency in Siaya County
during the August 8 polls was on Saturday mid morning found dumped along a
footpath in Sirowa village, North Ugenya.
The body of the deceased, who has been identified as
Caroline Adhiambo, was found along the footpath on Saturday, August 19 at
around 11.00 am.
North Ugenya Chief, Joseph Ooko, said that that Ms.
Adhiambo’s body was found with deep cuts and it is suspected that she was
tortured before being murdered.
“Ms. Adhiambo is said to have left home yesterday (Friday)
and has been found dead this morning, she was a teacher at Ugenya High School
and served as a Deputy Presiding Officer at Miyare primary school in Ugenya,”
Mr. Ooko said.
According to Mr. Ooko, the deceased informed her husband
that she was going to pick some items in Ugenya High School before she met her
death.
The body has since been removed to Sega Mission Hospital
Mortuary ahead of a post mortem as investigations begin to establish the exact
cause and motive of the death.
This comes a day after slain IEBC ICT Director, Chris
Msando, was buried at his Lifunga Kobiero rural home in Ugenya, Siaya County.
