A woman accused of fatally stabbing her husband will stay in
police custody for 21 days as officers conclude investigations, a court has
ruled.
Mary Nzungi is accused of killing Jeremiah Ngala in Lindi,
Kibera slum, on Sunday.
The two, both shoe vendors at Toi market, had quarreled
early in the day at the market before Nzungi went back home. Ngala came home
drunk at 9:30pm and started abusing his wife, who allegedly picked a knife and
stabbed him in the right side of the neck.
She started screaming and when the neighbours showed up they
found the deceased had bled to death.
Milimani resident magistrate Sinkiyian Tobiko ruled that the
case be mentioned on September 15.
