THE waist trainer phenomenon has hit Mzansi big time!
Singer and TV presenter Kedebone Mkhabela also sells waist
trainers or body shapers.
She said as a huge Keeping Up with the Kardashians fan, she
saw how the Kardashian clan reduced their waistlines by wearing this nifty
garment.
“I wanted something to help me refine my waist and when I
saw that Kim Kardashian West and her sisters are using the waist trainer, I
tried and it worked,” Kedebone said.
The Sunday Chillaz presenter said it took her six weeks to
see results and she’s happy to be able to afford other women an opportunity to
also lose weight.
“I started getting compliments and people wanted to find out
why I had lost so much weight and I saw a business opportunity,” she said.
There’s speculation that waist trainers have side-effects.
Among them are internal organs being squashed due to the
pressure of the belt on the tummy for hours on end.
But Kedebone said she hasn’t personally met anyone who had
experienced these side-effects.
“I put it on for eight hours a day. The only negative thing I read about waist trainers was hearing that other women put it on for over 22 hours,” she said.

Kedebone added that there are rubber waist trainers
available that are more comfortable and can be worn for longer periods.
“I could never sell something to my clients if I was putting
their lives in danger.
“This is legit and I encourage women who need it to use it,”
she said.
Local celebrities including singer LeAnne Dlamini, Lerato
Kganyago and Thando Thabethe have admitted to using waist trainers.
