The woman is accused of being behind a viral WhatsApp message that invited Nairobi's youth to apply for jobs with the Sonko Rescue Team
The message that was widely shared read: If you know any Youth in Nbi (Nairobi) who is interested in working with Team Sonko as a cleaner kindly inform he/her to register at the County Ward office immediately salary is 15,000/month and only ID card needed.
Governor Sonko, through a Facebook post, denied having any association with the message, labelling the woman an imposter.
The Governor also shared a video of the woman pleading her case with the police officers during the arrest.
She fiercely denied being the brains behind the operation, claiming that an unnamed man had asked her to forward the message on WhatsApp.
The woman also promised to cooperate with the officers in apprehending the main culprit.
