The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC)
on Thursday announced that it would make some major changes in the 2017 repeat
elections in line with the suggestions given to them by election observers.
IEBC Chairman led the commission led the commission in
meeting observers at a Nairobi hotel where he was presented with a list of 18
recommendations that will be need to be implemented ahead of the October 17
polls.
"We are going on with the arrangements. Everything is
in place as we speak," he assured the European election observers.
Chebukati further announced that the meeting with the Jubilee and NASA leaders would be postponed till next week but added that the specific date would be communicated further.
Some of the issues that the observers called for improvement
included the transmission of results, the training of IEBC technical staff.
The polls commission was also asked to improve management of
communication at the tallying centre.
