A student from Moi Girls High School who allegedly started
the tragic fire that left nine of her colleagues dead was on Wednesday
arraigned in court.
The form 1 student has been widely discussed in the media
after investigators linked her to the arson attack. However, her identity has
remained anonymous.
After appearing at a Nairobi Court on Wednesday afternoon,
police detectives were allowed to hold the suspect for a further one week
pending completion of the investigations.
The court, however, warned members of the public from
revealing the identity of the minors.
The press is also prohibited from publishing images that
would expose the minor to stigma.
Here is a photo of the suspect, the face is hidden in line
with the regulations and ethics code for coverage of minors.
