There was a movie-like robbery at the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) on Monday morning, where unknown thugs made away with a whopping Sh50 million.
KCB Thika branch in Kiambu County was the center of the well-planned burglary.
Confirming the incident, the bank’s manager divulged that the thieves broke into the strongroom through an underground tunnel.
It is also believed that the robbers used an oxyacetylene flame to drill holes into two safes that had the money. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
This comes months after robbery case in in Nairobi’s Ruai Estate where three thugs dug a hole to access Quickmatt Supermarket.
However, the men were killed by police after they were discovered to have been hiding, planning to rob the supermarket.
