Economist David Ndii and his wife are being used by the National Super Alliance (NASA) chief, Raila Odinga, to advance his political agenda, says a controversial political analyst.The sentiments by Mutahi Ngunyi come on the back of the dramatic arrest on Sunday afternoon of Ndii by police allegedly for planning meetings with secessionists at the Coast.
The Evening Post has learnt that the economist was under 24-hour surveillance for some time and was trailed from Nairobi to Mombasa.
Prof Ngunyi, in his usual fashion, jumped on Twitter on the night of Monday, December 4, to say that the respected economist is being naive citing what was happening around him.
“David Ndii is being naive with his braggadocio. His wife should not talk about under-clothes on TV. The couple is being used by foxy Baba,” Mutahi wrote.
“They will molest him in police cells and then charge him with misprision of treason.” He added.
Ndii’s wife, Mwende Gatabaki, hastily called a press conference to condemn the police for the manner in which they arrest him, noting that they violated the law and invaded their privacy by conducting unauthorised search of their hotel room.
In a press conference on Monday, Raila who is currently in Kisumu said he had intelligence that police were planning to arrest more of his key partners over the People’s Assembly.
