Chief Justice David Maraga has blasted top city lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi in a rare attack.
Maraga who is known to rarely comment on matters outside the courtroom seemed to have been angered by Senior Counsel Abdullahi over the lawyer's increased attacks on Supreme Court rulings.
Abdullahi is well known to take his sentiments especially on judicial and political matters to his personal Twitter account which has nearly half a million followers.
Maraga gave Abdullahi an ultimatum to either choose to litigate his cases in court or on social media.
The Chief Justice spoke during the hearing of an application to quash a decision aimed at holding two Iranian nationals who have been freed by the Court of Appeal and are still being held by the Immigration Department.
Abdullahi was forced to apologise to the court following the rebuke by CJ Maraga.
