James Orengo, Jimi Wanjigi And Joho Summoned To DCI

Jimi Wanjigi and James Orengo. They have been summoned to DCI for attending Raila's swearing-in.

Siaya Senator James Orengo, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Nairobi Businessman Jimi Wanjigi among other Nasa politicians have been ordered to report to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

The politicians have been given an anticipatory bail of Sh 100,000 and are set to appear for grilling for having attended the controversial swearing-in ceremony of Nasa leader Raila Odinga on January 30 at Uhuru Park in Nairobi.
The Court sitting in Nairobi on Tuesday ordered the police, not to arrest any of the Nasa leaders who attended the controversial oath.
Other politicians who have been summoned include: Simba Arati (Dagoretti North), Senator George Khaniri (Vihiga County), Nasa CEO Norman Magaya, Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga, Makadara MP George Aladwa, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino (who arrest warrant was issued and later revoked on Monday), Nasa strategist and economist David Ndii and ODM’s Executive Director Oduor Ong’wen.
Already police in the recent crackdown arrested National Resistance Movement Miguna Miguna, Makadara MP George Aladwa and Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang for participating “directly in the illegal event to swear-in Nasa leader Raila Odinga.”
Dr Miguna was arrested ion Friday at his home in Runda in Nairobi and the Director of Public Prosecutions Nicholas Mutuku said in a court session in Nairobi on Tuesday morning that already Miguna has been charged in a Kajiado Law Courts.
Miguna has been charged with unlawful involvement in a criminally organised group (National Resistance Movement) and treason.
Miguna had failed to show up for the case in three successive sermons, raising the questions over his whereabouts. Miguna, in an address to the press on Thursday last week, dared Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i to arrest him as he “is the one who commissioned the oath administered to Raila Odinga.”
It however remains unclear why all the named leaders are sought for questioning. It is, however, understood that Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i hinted at a major crackdown on all leaders who flanked Mr Odinga at Uhuru Park. Nasa leader Raila Odinga, has not been named in any wrongdoing.
