The National Assembly report on the net worth of new crop of Cabinet Secretaries has laid bare that incoming Water and Irrigation CS Mr Simon Chelugui is the richest among the eight Cabinet Secretary nominees with a Sh796 million net worth.
The report which was tabled in the Nation Assembly by the Committee on Appointments after concluding the vetting of those nominated by President Uhuru Kenyatta, states that the former Betting Control and Licensing Board chairman's source of wealth is real estate, moveable assets and farming.
Former DPP Keriako Tobiko, who was proposed for Environment and Natural Resources docket, comes second. He is valued at Sh360 million. Mr Tobiko in his declaration form, said that the source of his wealth is investments in real estate, agriculture and livestock.
Ex-Meru governor Peter Munya emerged the third richest in the group with Sh264,100,000 while former Chief Operations Officer at Royal Media Services Mrs Farida Karoney (Lands) stated that she is worth Sh200 million.
The report detailed that her wealth declaration forms showed she has investments in real estate, shares and farming.
The Petroleum and Mining docket nominee and former Turkana County Senator Mr John Munyes stated that he is worth Sh50million.
Outgoing Public Service Commission chairperson Margaret Kobia is worth Sh50million and so is Foreign Affairs CS nominee Monica Juma.
Sports and Culture CS nominee Mr Rashid Mohammed Achesa told the committee that his networth stands at Sh40 million.
