Raila Odinga had a much-publicised “swearing in” where he declared himself to be the president of Kenya. The event which was attended by a sizeable crowd has caused more questions than answers about the state of the nation.
Immediately after Odinga was ‘sworn in’ in front of his cheering supporters who had thronged Uhuru Park from several parts of the country, his Twitter handlers changed his bio, perhaps to reflect his change in status.

On Tuesday the 30th of January, Odinga’s bio had read:
“THIS IS THE OFFICIAL ACCOUNT OF THE RT. HON. RAILA AMOLO ODINGA, PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA’ WHILE THAT OF UHURU KENYATTA READ, ‘PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA.”
This was changed hours later and now read:
“THIS IS THE OFFICIAL ACCOUNT OF HIS EXCELLENCY RAILA AMOLO ODINGA.”
