Interior CS Fred Matiang'i earlier this week, while giving a report on the Miguna Miguna deportation saga, revealed that a man who had renounced his citizenship had been stranded for four months at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Mohamed Hussein Bloushu is currently staying at the 'no-man's' section of the airport after being denied entry to three countries.
According to the Nation, his problems started in 2015 when he was arrested in the UAE for being in possession of bhang.
Hussein was jailed for 1 year and 8 months before being put on a plane to Comoros since he had a passport.
Upon arrival, he was denied entry as Comoros stated that his passport was not reflected in their database.
Kenya Airways flew him back to Nairobi, hoping to take him back to the UAE.
When he arrived in Dubai, he was disowned again as the Arabic nation advised him to go back to Comoros since he had the country's passport.
Bloushu tried to travel to the Philippines since holders of a Comoros passport do not need a visa to enter the country but was once again stopped while in transit.
He was flown back to Comoros and Kenya Airways had to bring him back to Nairobi as per the international rules of aviation.
The airline has been providing him with meals and he is in constant touch with his family since he is allowed to have a cell phone and has access to the internet.
It is, however, not clear if he renounced his Comoros citizenship.
Matiang'i had brought the matter up while explaining why Miguna had to re-apply for Kenyan citizenship.
