A 20-year-old high school leaver was on Monday charged
before a Nyeri court with having unnatural act with a donkey.
Naftaly Muturi Muriithi was caught in the vile act by the
donkey’s horrified owner. The heinous act happened few meters from a local
church where an evening kesha was going on.
Residents said they had earlier seen the young man tying the
donkey to a tree.
They said they were shocked to find the donkey dead with its hind legs tied.
The donkey died shortly afterwards “from exhaustion.”
Muturi, 20, told a shocked court he was too afraid to chat up women while
appearing before resident magistrate Ruth Kefa.
According to the charge sheet, Mr Muriithi committed the
offence at Mutathiini village in Tetu sub-county at 3am on Sunday morning.
The court heard that Mr Muriithi was arrested by members of
the public and handed over to police at Gichira police post where he was locked
up awaiting trial.
Mr Muriithi, who was unrepresented in court, completed his
secondary school education this year, according to area Chief Susan Wangechi.
He was released on a Sh100,000 bond or a surety of the same
amount while the case was scheduled for mention on December 13, 2017.
