
Nasa Leader Raila Odinga has issued a statement concerning the Arrest of NASA strategist David Ndii.
Addressing Journalists from Kisumu, Odinga claimed that the arrest of Ndii was just the beginning of intimidation by the government and more people would be arrested.
"The People of Kenya will not be intimidated into submission, through teargas, bullets, and arrests. You cant rule the people against their will. the people's will shall prevail" the former Prime Minister affirmed
On Monday , NASA Lawyer and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo revealed Ndiii was arrested over the utterances he made months ago and not the people’s assembly affair.
He added that the charges being levied to Mr. Ndii are preferring and the DCI should have summoned him for interrogations instead of pouncing on him while on a holiday.
“The charges they are preferring on him are utterances that happened months ago. Ordinarily they would have invited him for interrogation not pouncing on him when he’s on holiday” said Otiende Amollo.
The legislator also added that the NASA strategist will be arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts to be charged with incitement, a move he says is aimed at intimidating the Nasa Coalition.
Ndii's wife Mwende Gatabaki has condemned the arrest & harassment of her husband accusing President Uhuru Kenyatta of unfairly targeting her family.
She also confirmed that her husband was arrested outside Leopard Beach Hotel by flying squad officers while in Kwale to attend a relatives wedding.
