Opposition Leader and Movement for Democratic Change party
leader Morgan Tsvangirai has died.
Morgan was battling with colon cancer in South Africa where
he had gone for a treatment.
His death is a big blow to Zimbabwean opposition
party, coming at a time when the country is preparing for elections after long
serving President Robert Mugabe was forced out of power.
Morgan was a fierce critic of Mugabe’s regime, he contested
against Mugabe in a controversial election forcing them to be in a coalition
taking the position of the prime minister.
Morgan had deep ties with ODM Party leader Raila Odinga, he
attended the ODM Delegates convention in 2013 where Raila was endorsed as the
party candidate.
