Woman Dumps Her 6-Month-Old Baby At Referral Hospital

Police are looking for a middle-aged woman in Busia, who abandoned her 6-month-old son at the county’s referral hospital on Monday, February 19.


The woman arrived at the hospital at 11am on Monday carrying the baby before abandoning him on a bed in one of the wards, saying she was going to buy bottled water outside the hospital.


The abandoned baby’s cry attracted the attention of patients and staff at the health facility, who, immediately,launched a search for the suspect.


Busia County Referral Hospital management, led by Erick Wamalwa, says the baby is in good health.
